Generator Repair & Maintenance Nassau
If your generator hesitated during the last outage, throws error codes, or hasn't been serviced since it went in — we repair and maintain home standby and portable units across New Providence, whoever sold or installed them.
The generator that fails is the one nobody looked at
A standby generator spends its life waiting. Batteries drain, fuel lines gum, coolant hoses perish and salt air works on every connection — silently, until the night BPL drops and the unit cranks, hesitates and dies. Nearly every "it worked last year" failure we see was preventable with a service visit. If your generator is your storm plan, maintenance isn't an accessory to it; it is the plan.
Brands we work on
We service and repair the brands actually installed on New Providence — Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Cummins Onan, and the diesel workhorses on estates and boats-turned-backup arrangements. Where you bought it and who installed it doesn't matter to us: units from Florida exporters, retail-store purchases and inherited installs are most of our repair work, precisely because nobody on-island was responsible for them until now.
Symptoms worth a call
- Didn't start — or started and shut down — during the last outage
- Error codes or warning lights on the controller
- Hunting, surging or voltage dips when loads kick in
- Weekly self-test not running, or you're not sure it is
- Visible rust on the enclosure, connections or fuel lines
- No service since installation, or more than a year ago
What a maintenance visit covers
A scheduled visit is the cheap insurance: oil and filter change, air filter, spark plugs where fitted, battery load test and terminals, coolant on liquid-cooled units, fuel system inspection, transfer switch exercise, controller diagnostics and a full simulated-outage test under load. We log what we find, photograph it, and tell you honestly whether anything needs work now or can wait a season.
Salt is the real enemy
Coastal units age on a different clock. Terminals corrode, enclosure fasteners seize and radiators fur up years ahead of the manual's schedule. Our maintenance intervals assume island conditions, not Wisconsin ones — and on ocean-facing installs we treat connections and hardware on every visit, because replacing a $10 terminal beats replacing a $1,500 controller board it took down with it.
Before the season, not during it
The worst time to discover a dead battery is the day a storm is named — and that's exactly when every workshop's phone rings at once. Book the annual service in the calm months. If you're also weighing whether the old unit is worth another season, we'll give you a straight answer and, when it isn't, what a modern replacement actually costs installed.
