Silent backup
Battery Backup & Solar Hybrid Systems Nassau
Batteries switch over so fast the clocks don't blink — no fuel, no noise, no exhaust. On their own they carry a home through typical BPL outages; paired with solar they also cut the bill that BPL sends you.
How battery backup handles a BPL outage
A home battery sits between the grid and your panel. When BPL drops, the switchover is measured in milliseconds — the Wi-Fi doesn't drop, the clocks don't reset, and at 2am nobody wakes up, because nothing changed. There's no engine to start, no fuel to store, no exhaust and no noise, which also makes batteries the option for townhouses and condos where a generator has nowhere to live.
What a battery realistically carries
Sizing batteries is about energy, not just power. A typical 10–15kWh system carries essentials — fridge, lights, fans, Wi-Fi, TV — through the load-shedding and fault outages that make up most BPL interruptions. Central air is the honest caveat: A/C drains batteries fast, so whole-home-with-A/C backup means either a large (and priced-accordingly) battery bank or a hybrid setup. We size from your actual usage at the free assessment, not from a brochure.
Add solar, and the battery pays rent
A standalone battery is insurance. A solar hybrid is insurance that works a day job: panels charge the battery and run the house while the sun is up, cutting one of the highest electricity bills in the region, and the battery carries the evenings and outages. During a long outage the system recharges itself daily — hours of backup become days. On New Providence sunshine, the math deserves a serious look.
Battery, generator — or both
- Battery: instant, silent, no fuel — ideal for typical outages and homes without generator space
- Generator: unlimited runtime on LP or diesel — the tool for multi-day storm recovery and whole-home A/C
- Both: battery bridges the gap instantly, generator carries the long haul — the resilient setup for storm country
The combination isn't overkill here; it's how you get seamless everyday backup and week-long hurricane endurance without running an engine for every ten-minute grid blip. We'll tell you honestly which tier your situation justifies — plenty of homes are best served by a generator alone.
Installed and supported on-island
Like everything we do, battery and hybrid systems are assessed, installed, commissioned and serviced on New Providence. Batteries need less maintenance than engines but are not fit-and-forget: firmware, monitoring and periodic checks keep the warranty valid and the capacity honest. You get the monitoring app, and we watch the fleet side too.
